I live right in front of a roundabout and there’s traffic jams there all day. I started paying attention and realized that what causes the jams are actually the sheer amount of pedestrians that go through there. It’s near a mall and like 3 different schools so there’s always people crossing.
Cars always stop to let people cross here (which is awesome and also very weird), which means the cars will sometimes stay 5-10min in the same place because the flow of people is constant

@fantinel we have roundabouts all around Siem Reap. The idea of cars and motorcycles and buses stopping for pedestrians is novel. I think the roundabouts are more like making traffic and people going in different directions including the wrong way down streets all meet up. With often bizarre results.
