    @MakersHour A1 Hello #MakersHour. Pretty much all of my projects are about learning something techy. But I got to the point where I was forgetting where I'd documented key things I'd picked up, so I created a techniques page on my blog as a reminder...

    Techniques

    This page details various techniques I've used on this blog, with a list of some of the projects where you can find out more.  It doesn't list all projects using the techniques, but refers to the project write-up that either gets you started with that technique or where it is described in the most detail.…

      @MakersHour

      A1 oh my. One project I've learnt from? I learnt from every project. Whether it's a new/better way of work holding, or a different Machining technique, or a wood working method, or silver soldering or welding or or or or or... You get the idea.

        Yes, logging the new knowledge is a thing.

        I had gotton very good at digital filing and bookmarking but it is now so extensive it is almost unmanageable.

          I think it has to be my dolls house. I learnt some specific skills, like soldering brass, or veneering, or how to assemble miniature furniture, but also I learnt that I could do all these things, and design furniture to make.

              @MakersHour A1 #makershour oops for some reason when I was working on my answers I started from 5 and worked back and obviously got distracted before I got to 1. I've learnt a lot about myself from all my making but the ideas I have with themakeroftrees shows me how resilient I have been and how I've let creativity fill in the big gaps that have opened up in my life. Oh and the pattern I used to make my fingerless gloves was the inspiration for the sweater neckline repair I did

                  A1. I'm still working on a boat. Stitch and glue plywood and epoxy. It's been a real lesson in deciding how "perfect" I want things to be vs how much I want it finished. You could spend forever sanding down all the curves, but do you want to sand or go boating?
