New person here on Fedi. Greetings everyone. Inspired this week by the fact that the seasonal tool sharpening / cleaning is done and it is warm enough to get in the garage. -

@MakersHour A1 #MakersHour hi all everything here is very much dependent on how I feel physically and emotionally. Inspiration is largely still "thank you" based for hospital staff but also I've got a few commissions from a local shop who have asked me to make up a few examples of crochet kits they're selling. Obviously I'm doing that ... And a little more

@MakersHour Hi, Maaike here. This week I've been struggling with the heel of my sock. I've made a fright mess of it, fridges it, redid it, made a right mess of it again. I've decided that I can live with a very messy heel and move on, because I'm fed up with it and can't bear the thought of having to redo it again. My next pair of socks will not have double knitted heels, that's for sure.

Not sure I have any making inspiration this week, but success at the carboot sale on Saturday is definitely inspiring me to go again and sell more unwanted stuff!

A1 hi. In Quixoticgeek, a maker in the Netherlands. What's inspired me this week? Not sure. Today I got instructions for using the CNC router at the makerspace, and the Tig welding equipment. Which opens up quite a few new possibilities. Need to have a think tho, I really don't need any more projects until I've made some more progress on the current project pile.

@suearcher @MakersHour interesting. I have things to sell and things I want... I really want a stone bench for under my rose arch but they are not things you can just stumble across

@Indigoatcrafts @MakersHour Proper skill would be nice! For years have sharpened chisels, planes etc., by eye. But using more hardwoods means I need more accurate bevels ... trying a veritas guide now and its working well.
