    @julie @catsalad
    See, I'm excited to plug my phone into 350kW. Flash charge, indeed.

      @catsalad

      Nothing like 16 years for a single charge.

          @catsalad I think only a USB-C could fix me...

              @catsalad Is it just me, or do USB-C cables have a shorter life than the older varieties? I keep having to replace them. More vulnerable to internal fraying or something?

                @catsalad Interesting idea! If you are in a desert with a Tesla car and a laptop, you can use it to charge the car.

                  @catsalad There are plenty of Bosch 36V ≤4A e-bike chargers that have no business not being on USB-C (if only USB chargers had the same satisfying contactor ka-chunk…)

                    @catsalad and on the apple car you have to flip the car over to plug the cable into the underside...

                    @quixoticgeek @catsalad it’s actually even harder to do than you may be imagining because the Apple car is all rounded edges, except that one edge that’s basically razor sharp.

                        @at

                        I've not seen these connectors. Are they rainproof in a way that USB is not? EV charging connectors do try to be at least rain-resistant, and I've charged my EV in rain without getting a jolt.
