For this 1st Sunday of the month, #digitalsovereignty day, I'm celebrating the arrival of an R730. Cost me about $1300 CAD with everything except drives and caddies. 64GB RAM, should be enough.
Room for 8+ 3.5" drives...which is what I have lying around.
It's going to run Proxmox, and host many VMs, containers relating to de-googling. Photo storage with immich. Some TBD chat app, notes.
It's going to replace an old, sickly Synology NAS, and take over media sharing.
