We're testing a federated event platform called Gath.io (@91ET8dCs1JthrXFWxg6ry). the process was pretty simple to set up! I appreciate the Calendar and Maps integration, and the fact that guests don't have to sign up to RSVP.

Okay what is this platform???!?! Very neat (except for maybe the event handle... ) and we need to know more about putting this into a community hosted tech stack!

@johannab Activitypub events! I’m still not totally clear how it interacts with mastodon but it creates an account for the event itself, maybe if you mention the event on Mastodon it gets added as a comment on the event page?
It looks pretty simple to spin up an instance of one’s own so I may want to do that
