@Tutanota I have used Firefox for many years but recently persistent 'updates' which involves a massive irritating popup about changes to the UI that you have to close which interrupts your workflow is irksome and I am now looking at alternatives. Recently ditched Facebook for Mastodon, Twitter / X for Bluesky, looking forward to ditching Google as well and am looking forward to Graphene being rolled out for other devices.

@Tutanota Vivaldi. You can add custom block lists in Android, probably for other platforms i assume.

@Tutanota In the blog, the best browser listed is

            > LibreWolf fork for best privacy

as the best browser. This is incredibly cynical, since your email doesn’t work in it β€” something I’ve been reporting for a long time. Nothing has changed for the better since then.

Attached: 1 image #tutanota #librewolf Tuta is no longer friends with LibreWolf. To use it, you need browsers with tracking functionality. It's unfortunate. It used to be a good service.

I haven't compared the efficacy of the approaches since I do some blocking at the DNS level on my network, so I'm not a good test case. But...

@t3rcermillenium @elduvelle @Vivaldi @alexadeswift @Tutanota vivaldi has a built-in ad blocker, and my understanding is that it doesn't need this API. Although from my experience it isn't that good; when I used vivaldi for a while, I used it with ublock lite.

@placebo @t3rcermillenium @elduvelle @Vivaldi @alexadeswift @Tutanota same setup as you Aleksei, though I find that Vivaldi's default blocker breaks more sites than other adblockers I tried, to the point I am unsure if I wanna keep it. I might keep it for my phone and switch for my laptop.

Also working on getting my phone cleaned from any Google app or what so ever, and laptops are being cleaned and installed with Linux.
Well, and WINE since I need a programm that needs windows to run... Unfortunately not found a replacement for it. Yet...
