      @brian_gettler
      This doesn't make me feel any better. In the 90s, I was already out of Uni and into the workplace.
      Let them try an 80s class then ! We barely had access to printers!

        @CleoQc Ha! I can hear the dot matrix spitting out student papers.

        As a historian, I could really roll with this. I'm tempted to say, "sure, we could do the 90s, but that's pretty tame. Let's try the 1710s."

          @brian_gettler

          I'm not sure what students would object to the most - the canings, or the Latin...

            @brian_gettler "90s style" aka how we did everything until someone decided it was more important for students to have corporate products than it was to learn anything.

              @alessandro @brian_gettler
              Was there still caning at university level? Or was just duelling?

                @brian_gettler ah the sweet sound of a dot matrix.... And the paper jam when the little feeder wheels would tear up the sidebands...

                  You know, I just remembered the smell of the stencil duplicator sheets we were getting in high school...
                  Loved that smell!
