Raspberry time: I wanted to plant some more, so I looked up recommended varieties for North Carolina

only to find the official recommendation for raspberries in this part of the South is "DO NOT ATTEMPT."

Turns out I've been growing raspberries in defiance of natural law this whole time πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I heard those kinds of berries can be really aggressive. I've only heard of Himalayan Blackberry being absolutely forbidden though. Plenty of people plant it anyway, and (in Oregon) it has destroyed every creek ecosystem in the state. That and English Ivy.

Or are they saying it's impossible to grow, so don't bother? I (again) heard those kinds of berries were more northernly plants.

@sarahtaber as long as the soil stays moist and the air isnt too dry... if those are canby they are good to zone 8 which is the south end of north carolina.

@sarahtaber Too far south? Which latitude are you on? Like what is the reason given that it's not worth trying?
