@mcnado in a classic British Royal Navy move, they could at least bring in extra rum rations

Oh wait, that’s probably not a great thing to do on a modern battleship full of explodey things, is it?

@slothrop @mcnado probably wasn't a *great* idea on a wooden ship of the line with a hold full of gunpowder either. 😉

You don’t fuck with food, family, or pay. Everyone in management knows that. Can’t keep your workforce happy if they’re hungry and deployed too long.

@mcnado logistics are always an afterthought for the fascists. It's just not violently masculine enough to command their attention.

@GranVegas @mcnado could this… could this be the one thing Pete Hegseth read about the military before deciding to take on his current job?

So wait, they've lost the ability to feed the people with guns and the training to use them? That's not likely to end well.

@portlandy @mcnado The U.S. Armed Forces have two skills that mostly no one challenges, be they supporters or opponents:

                            (1) Not overthrowing the (U.S.) govt.

                            (2) Logistics. (Lots of minor screw-ups, I hear, but ultimately successful at a global scale to both support and end lives

I can only assume that as MAGA was cutting out the numerous people and policies related to number 1, they also destroyed many plans and capabilities for number 2.

@swiftone @mcnado it should also be noted that part of the reason American fascists eschew logistics is that before integration it was what Black service members did in disproportionate numbers. (Hence it was done extremely well and laid the foundation for the systems you describe.)

This might not _cause_ a coup, but it helps increase the odds that the military does not support Trump when _he_ tries to do a coup.

                                  Again.
