@bagder my guess there are more devices without network than with, so sqlite or libz are more likely...
but often devices without network are leaner on resources, so maybe this "fat" SW is more common to hardware with networking. Here stuff like libcurl might score...
depends how lean libcurl is if you only need like tftp and serve some static webpages for status...

@bagder I don't know, but I did NOT vote for sqlite based on the sheer amount of god damned stupid things they've concocted for coders to avoid learning SQL. Oh god damn it don't get me started.

@bagder libcurl, libz and OpenSSL most likely would be on the same host.
But libz could be on host alone, without them.
So libz.

@bagder would guess SQLite or libz. they are used a lot, and are also present in devices without network connection

@bagder my guess is libz. because I build systems from scratch an it's a base dependency in very many packages. it's needed at the very beginning of system build process. I doubt anything could work without it. -

@bagder I think the real question is what classify a device, my bet is on libz, for each phone there is probably 2 micro controlers in phone chargers that store the firmware using libz.

@bagder I'm voting Libz, mostly because if I recall both sqlite and libcurl include it by proxy and need it for common operation, and it has many uses beyond just that. OpenSSL doesn't depend on it, but has a more niche use, so libcurl likely already has more deployments than it.
