    Something I can highly recomment:

Watching 90s #StarTrek and reading the usenet discussions about the show from around the episode(s) aired.

it's funny how literally all the same "this franchise sucks now" discussions that happen with nutrek today, already happened back then.

All of this has happened before, and will happen again.
    Wait, wrong franchise...

Example, here's one about #Startrek Discovery

"The show's premise and the intense drama that it should set up on the ship and its characters is completely ignored. It is a standard Star Trek crew in a very non-standard setting but the show isn't brave enough to step outside the Trek corporate structure to let its characters react to, experience and be changed by the new enviroment."

Except I lied, it's from someone in 1995 complaining about Voyager

"Discovery fails for the simple reason it doesn't appeal to the same crowd that made ST:TNG a success: white males between the ages of 18-35.

[The show runners] sold out to the liberal (I am woman hear me snore!) crowd; the ratings reflect this"

            Except, I lied again.

            It's actually about voyager
