I could buy a 100 piece reel direct from Mini-Circuits for $163 but that makes it expensive for others to build the project. I'll be buying Macom or Chinese transformers for this project, that likely will carry over to the next project that actually is high volume.

Pricing like this makes small quantity electronics painfully expensive. I really want to order exactly what I need and not have a bunch of inventory sitting around.
I really appreciate the flatter pricing at LCSC.

@dlharmon LCSC is so good, and really opened my eyes to just how ludicrous the markup is from western distributors.

@dlharmon so back in the dark ages, there was a group build called Scotty Spectrum Analyzer (SSA). They had worked out a special deal for a bunch of parts that you could get just by telling them a quote number. I wonder if you could swing that.

@aholtzma I remember looking at that one back in the day. Maybe as I do have some contacts there but I'd prefer to avoid it, just use what's readily available from other vendors.

@aholtzma It's small enough quantities that a free sample order for all the parts would likely go through.
My guess is that they are wanting to discourage distributor purchases, encourage sample orders, direct purchases. I don't like sample orders because of all the sales followup that happens.
