Canada has hit 2% of spending for NATO. As Canada needs this increased military spending to protect our resources like petro and nuclear from a maga invasion, those industries must now pay a rider for protection.

Petro and nuclear should be assessed an equivalent percentage of spending that then is collected and applied to Canada's military budget.

Canada also owns the TMX pipeline. It needs to have a special rider applied because of the energy crisis the maga fash and their petro collaborators created. Give those funds to low income Canadians.

Most Canadians would likely agree with these extra taxes on oligarch industries, but our banker PM and his conservative neoliberal party won't.

@NMBA What are your thoughts on Chavez/Maduro's policies while in power? They actually did quite similar things, eventually bleeding their industries to death, then they had nothing. Emotionally, I agree with you, but practically I think probably you will eviscerate FDI and cause capital flight, leaving (especially the low income folks) far worse off.

Chavez and Maduro nationalized oil. I support that but it wasn't in my post. The petro corps have been making record profits for years before this crisis which will exponentially increase their profits. If they think they can make a better business in Iran, Russia or Venezuela, they should GTFO today.

Enough of pandering to those greedy climate villains. The resources are OWNED by Canada and the right to exploit is a privelage. Time to restore that truth.

@NMBA I think we're better off negotiating higher royalties and keeping competent companies doing the extracting than trying to make a crown corp and doing it ourselves (which we have already tried). Oil extraction with the efficiency of Canada Post - I guess it WOULD help the climate though. πŸ˜„
