    To those who say I overdid it with my MacBook Pro on the specs, how do you know? With vibe coding, who knows what I will do with it?

    @technocounselor Can you let me know again what specs you chose?

      @technocounselor I can't imagine just dropping five thousand all at once like that. Has to be in both parts exciting and painful for sure; maybe one day, I might get myself a really good PC or computer with all the updated specs for offline LLM models.

      @Rooktallon Yeah, not something I’d do every day, but for a computer I’ll use for several years, it’s worth it.

        @technocounselor I have to ask, do you know of any LLM offline agents that might be able to work? Been thinking about running a few of them for small tasks though I'm loving Codex.

                  @technocounselor @Bruce I think it is interesting that you are going for that end of the spectrum, and I am seriously considering a MacBook Neo. It will be especially interesting if we both end up being pretty happy with what we got.

                    @technocounselor I've never understood why people feel so free to express negative opinions about another person's technology choices. It really is not their business. Most people don't choose to spend as little as I do on technology, but that doesn't give me the right to impose my choices on others. I really hope you enjoy your new Mac. 🙂

                                      @technocounselor @Rooktallon It would depend on the hardware. If you are on a PC then it will depend on if you have a GPU or not. You would need at least 8 GB of vide ram to do agentic work on a PC.

                                        @mikedoise @technocounselor I have a 3060 with 32 gigs of ram. It's a 12-gen Intel i7. Should that be decent enough?
