@JamminJerry Yeah in the past, he was released for the most part the same day. Or maybe overnight once or twice. This is the first time it's been 4 days. I think they were being careful because they want to find out why and try to prevent it.

@nycki96 I just have never seen someone go to the hospital after one before, and I have seen several people that have had those.

@lerven @nycki96 I guess the people I have seen have them might not have been that bad then. although like I said, the one that hit there head really hard on the floor I would have thought would have went to the hospital. it sounded like a bowlingball hitting a floor, but nope they didn't go. they just laid down for maybe an hour and a half, and then were fine.

@JamminJerry He was unresponsive for hours so I had to call 9-1-1.

@JamminJerry @lerven Well if gthey came out of it pretty quickly and became responsive then that could make sense. But like with Merv, he wasn't answering questions or responding when you talked to him.

@nycki96 @lerven now the thing that scaired the living crap out of me was when my mom had a small stroke in front of me, and I was the only one there. I had never seen something like that in my life! I did manage to get threw it, even though she didn't want me calling a squad. I respected her wishes, but man was that scairy! it was a bad enough one that it made her speach slir for several days. this was back in april of 2007 I do believe.

@JamminJerry @lerven Oh man. She and you are lucky it was no worse since you didn't call the ambulance. I would think a stroke is something you should really be seen for.

@nycki96 @lerven while aI agree with you, remember how bad my mom was off too. I know she had a DNR set up, so even if we had called a squad because she could talk to me, even though it was slired, they wouldn't have taken her, and if it had been much worse, they wouldn't have been able to do much anyway with her having a DNR in place.

@JamminJerry @lerven Well they might have given her medicine to stop the stroke from getting worse and then rehab to help her recover the use of her body parts that suffered with the stroke. to me, I would think a DNR only applies if they stop breathing or their heart stops, you don't try to resuscitate them.

Hi all. Feel like I have been out of pocket for so long. I got up Saturday to my husband having a seizure. He was in the hospital until today. now he is home. It's been quite hectic around here. Hopefully, things will settle down now. Still waiting to hear abut the certification exam I am looking to take. As you can imagine, not much studying has been done this weekend or this week so far.

@nycki96 @lerven had she not been alert, and not able to talk, you bet your ass I would have called them like I did in october of that same year, and from what I was told by her brother, had I waited another 5 minutes she would ahve died. that time she had 300 pounds of water in her body, her oxigin levil was either 45 or 47 percent, and she had walking namonia. we didn't know what was wrong at the time though.
