    Why many people here hate AI and their chatbots so much?

    The code agent is helpful for me for coding and troubleshooting and accelerate the process a lot and decrease the manual work. It has lots of mistakes, but it is adjustable and is a tool that can work or not like other solutions that we normally find by searching.

    The general chatbots also are another good source of information and learning. It definitely contains lots of misinformation, but like lots of other internet sources and media, it should be checked by searching carefully about the information that it give you. And like other softwares that collect data, one shouldn't give personal information to it. There are lots people already believe anything social media feed them without searching it or questioning it. These misinformation spreading happens between people talking to each other as well

    So I don't get why people of here hates AI technology so much? It's a new technology and is still adjusting

      @bsh People hate LLMs so much because they use truly absurd amounts of electricity to generate unverifiable information, and because their misapplication is destroying the web as we know it. It is becoming nigh impossible to find verifiable information with sources because of LLM generated parked domains, at least on popular search engines.

      They're cooking the planet.
      The code is bad.
      Reliance on AI is known to cause cognitivive decline and psychosis.

      So lets say we fix all those problems right? Does AI suddenly become awesome? NO! These models are built on data theft, and the folks stealing the data don't play fair. Data archivists groups like the Internet Archive are being blocked by major new sources becasue of AI data scraping as a consequence to the actions of LLM development groups.

      GenAI bad. I've used it. I struggle not to sometimes. It's addictive. It trains the meat between your ears to stop trying, and feel good about it.

      I weep for a future where we've 'adjusted' to LLMs. The most intelligent creature on earth doesn't need a dice-roll powered hindbrain.

        @NoraBell
        Regarding the electricity usage and harms to environment, the government, NGOs and environmental activists and researchers should research about it and act based on its results.

        Regarding the inability to find a reliable resources, I disagree. I continue to find normal reliable information such as scientific articles, government websites, etc as before and I check the information that LLM give me as well like any other information on social media or news. It didn't change it for me and I don't consider it as god of information or sth like that, just another global information organizer tool, which these information could be correct or not or possibly modified for commercial purposes as well.

        It doesn't make me dumper. It's just another tool for getting information which should be verified.

        Many technologies made the previous human effort not necessary. but one is not open-minded if they resist the development and one is not wise to accept it without questioning it.
