I was always wondering, why so many people here in the UK are saying that driving an EV is expensive and nobody can afford it.
Today I checked the prices for charging per kWh. Wow, shocking. 😲
Screenshot No. 1 shows the price here on a 13kw charger. £0.94 which is around 1,09€. On screenshot No. 2 it's the price I pay in Germany on an 11kwh charger. That's 0.43€ which is £0.37. So in the UK the price per kWh at the same charging power is 2.5 times higher than in Germany.
So it's not only that purchasing an EV is more expensive than purchasing a combustor. It's also that driving an EV is more expensive than driving a combustor.

People that are already struggling here with costs of daily life cannot afford driving an EV.

@AlienJay@burningboard.net That’s why many EV drivers in the UK use services like Octopus Electroverse.
If you get your home electricity from Octopus Electroverse, you’ll get a (relatively) cheap rate for EV charging with the Electroverse card.
