@coolbean @apophis@kill-corporations.enterprises idk man u can not like flathub. fair enough

u can even not like flatpak .

but like . this isnt something where u have no power , its not like discord or twitter where in order to be able to stop using them u need to either convince people to stop using it , or rip yourself from your social ccircle

dont wanna use flatpak ? package the thing . i promise you everyone , even flatpak users , that uses the same distro as you will thank you

and sure , if flatpak goes evil they might uhh ? idk ? require an account to download the packages . sure lets say they do. u still have the code to the thing ? u can literally build the flatpak on your compooper its piss easy

this is actually a nothingburger ngl

@fiore @apophis the real problem is linux's distro model above all. if we could just have cohesive operating systems flatpak would never have been needed

@apophis@kill-corporations.enterprises @coolbean i literally would rather package smth for my distro instead of using the flatpak . thats not the point

the point is , if you are a user that is not willing to roll up their sleeves and package smth , there really is no point to criticizing flatpak. especially if your point contains no technical arguments that hold any water , and especially if you bring up some nazis blogpost about it .

im all for you learning how to use flatpak , or hell learn how to not use it , and packaging or building the things u need . i can even help in some cases

but throwing shit at projects for deciding to offer pre packaged builds in a format that is easy for them and available to most users instantly ?? whats even the point of that ??? it isnt even rlly expected that the project itself offers packages . them doing so on flathub is a nice bonus
