So as some of you may know by following me, I've been crashing out over work and having issues coping. I have found a way to stay here with less stress and the ability to keep my health insurance while looking for other work. During this time I've been reviewing our employee handbook and saw "Life assistance programs / employee assistance programs" mentioned. However, the wording was incredibly vague, and they gave an email to inquire about more information.
So I send an email to this just asking about it, and the automated response I got back said a new ticket had been created. This immediately raised red flags for me. Something I don't talk about often on here is the insane in house ticketing system my company made for all departments to use. It's a Power BI microsoft low code solution disaster. This shit runs horribly and I hate working with it daily.
Now the red flag raised because you can just search anyone and see what cases / emails have been sent to and from it by literally everyone in the entire company. I assumed that this is silod by departments but I wanted to double check. So I searched my name and sure enough the most recent email message is me asking the benefits team a question. I am now in the process of finding out if other people on my team (IT) can see this as well. If so, then here's the issue:
Let's say I want to file an HR complaint. It would make a ticket which is searchable and viewable by anyone in the entire company. Probably by the person I'm complaining about too. This is unacceptable for an insane amount of reasons and I can't believe this oversight was there.
I'm genuinely not happy that me asking about this program is (likely) going to be viewable by anyone not on the benefits team. It's kind of like an obvious sign I'm not doing well and looking for help from in network psychs / therapists. I'm not 100% if I can see this recent email because it's me signed in, or if anyone can see this.
I haven't tried searching for other people who may be filing HR issues since I never even had the thought, but if this is actually how this works, then it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. -

@monkey that's a relief. I hope something good comes of it in the end.@prettygood same tbh. I mean I'm going to therapy or something anyways regardless of what response I get from this email. My emotions have been a roller coaster lately and my threat to quit with no backup plan has cause a massive issue in the company lol -_-
