I know this is, like, the least important thing, but: I want to see Marc andreesen answer for his wordcel/shape rotator bullshit.

I know this is, like, the least important thing, but: I want to see Marc andreesen answer for his wordcel/shape rotator bullshit. He's almost single-handedly responsible for it. He invented this nonsense dichotomy to justify how his inability to explain things to people or to understand their explanations actually made him a special super genius. Then he set his incel followers on a bunch of people about it. And obviously he did it in the most misogynistic way possible. And now here he is, jerking off the chatbots that are fundamentally and exclusively word manipulators, and claiming they are our equals.

I've never read anything he's written that was longer than a tweet, because he's actually quite a bad writer. But if I understand the gist of his latest scrawling, it's that he's proudly unable to do this for himself. Which, yeah, no shit.
But if maybe 1 journalistic publication could ask him the question, that would be great.

@jenniferplusplus You expect mainstream tech journalism to deign to ask questions of the startup supreme leader?

@jenniferplusplus we continue to insist that the "how do you know you're not just a token predictor" crowd are a) telling on themselves and b) got the idea from fascists

@mayintoronto I know, I know, I'm being ridiculous. One might even say hysterical

@atax1a One of the hardest things in all of this is learning just how dim a view of humanity some people have, and how many of those people there are.

@jenniferplusplus @mayintoronto You are both making an extremely trenchant point. I suspect that the really good journalists don't believe they would get a reasonable, or even coherent answer, and self-censor, and the bad journalists think their lack of comprehension is _their_ fault, and become stenographers.

@willyyam As one of my fav podcasters like to say: "Why don't you just repost the press release, while you're at it?"
