"The Trump administration has committed a mass violation of ICE detainees' constitutional rights in MN, effectively blocking their acess to attorneys in the Whipple building, a judge ruled tonight.

The judge: Trump appointee Nancy Brasel."

"Incredibly powerful opinion chronicling the awfulness in Whipple and the ways it interfered with the right to counsel.

One key part of the ruling (that ICE will likely appeal ASAP); Judge Brasel bars ICE from transferring anyone out of Minnesota within 72 hours of arrest. This will have a huge impact on the availability of habeas for people who are still being arrested in Minnesota."

"In other words, long enough that habeas petitions can be filed on their behalf in Minnesota before they're whisked off to an immigration detention facility somewhere in the Fifth Circuit (where, under that court's current law, they wouldn't be eligible for a bond hearing)."

Got to have an impromptu celebration IRL tonight with @ottergoose and JJinDC 🙏."

@_L1vY_ @ottergoose Homan is a lot smarter than Noem and Bonvino because he understands being out there so publicly grabbing, assaulting, and murdering people turns public opinion against them. I think he'll probably continue the same thing but try to keep a lower profile so people don't see the gestapo on the news every day. I think that might actually be worse than what they did in Minneapolis the last couple months

@_L1vY_ @Jennifer Manhoe is to Gnome/Bovine-o as Couchfucker Vance is to Tangerine Palpatine. They'll continue to do horrible shit but keep a low profile about it thanks to their general unpopularity, in case you're wondering what a Vance presidency would be like if Trump dies before 2028.
