      @pseudonym I voted over-the-top, but if you own a cat there is a very practical reason to switch to the other way.

      You won’t walk into the loo to find the TP all over the floor and the cat looking proud of itself.

      @WenhamToo @pseudonym

      We had two cats, who weren't impressed by a switched over roll at all (at that certain age).

      For a short time we had to have an elastic strap around the roll. Once the cat removed the roll (and the paper got holes for some layers) but that wasn't so much fun for the cat, so she stopped.

        All right, let's settle this once and for all. Yes, I know about the patent, I don't care. Want to survey the masses for how it's done, done, done.

        Since I get 4 options, checking for USA vs rest of the world to see if there is a difference.

        Toilet paper (bog roll) should be mounted:

        @pseudonym I believe it was National Treasure, Stephen Fry himself, who referred to it as the "vulgar overhang"

          @pseudonym it depends on if you have a cat or if you have a blind person. A cat means to the back. A blind person (having been one once from a chemical accident) needs it to the front. Other than that, to the front is preferred.

            @pseudonym I feel like this question deserves a caveat for "... unless you own cats" (catveat? 😉 )

            @mark @pseudonym weirdly, none of our cats have ever taken an interest in the toilet paper, but I would definitely say a cat that does is worthy of an exception.

              @pseudonym Workied in hotels and housekeeping for years and we were always told that was the way to do it. Something about customer expectations. 🤷🏻‍♂️
