@GayDeceiver This is pretty much how HP sauce was invented: an interpretation of Indian condiments by someone who had no real idea what an Indian condiment might be.

Fortunately, HP turned out to be delicious in its own right.

I was in Romania once and had "Chinese" food with this vibe. There weren't many options in the town so we ended up going there twice. I ordered a chicken dish the first time, a beef dish the second. The food was exactly the same both times. Christ knows what I was eating.

!!! All the difference in the world, and neither of them is a sandwich:

Tacos are tacos, and pyrogies are calzones…

Identify your food based on the location of structural starch. Is a hot dog a sandwich? No, it's clearly a taco.

@TwoClownsEating @GayDeceiver When I was a kid on summer holiday in Devon all meals in the hotel seemed to arrive with the same brown sauce, main and dessert. I also nearly drowned in raw sewage on the beach out front. Possibly not a 'perfect' holiday...

As bad as eating Mexican food in Slovakia made by someone who's only seen pictures of Mexican food, but has never even read a recipe.
