I'm trying this recipe this time, except I put it in a 9X13 pan and used whole wheat flour.

    Old Fashioned Easy Apple Crisp

This easy apple crisp is made the old fashioned way like Grandma used to make, and is perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce!

I decided that a recipe by someone who goes by "The Chunky Chef" seemed promising.

Also, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. The form of apple is not specified. 🧐

                Today's to-do list:

                1. Work out.
                2. Make a garbage apple crisp from the apples in the bottom of the fruit drawer that nobody's going to eat otherwise.
                3. Take a nap.
                4. Vacuum the house.
                5. Help Mr. Blue make dinner.
                6. Enjoy #Monsterdon toots while embroidering.

@APBBlue Oooooh...you are walking an edge aren't you?

In high doses, nutmeg is a hallucinogen...seeing things, confusion, euphoria..

1 tsp won't do that, esp as it's distributed...but it might be more forthright than expected.

@FlockOfCats @APBBlue my grandad argued the same thing about cider. Just to clear up any cultural ambiguity, I mean hard cider.

I don't think this would have all fit in an 8X8 pan for the record. 😬

@APBBlue I think it's something like a teaspoon or tablespoon per person per day is when toxicity begins.

If I hear you're walking around with sachets in your purse, surreptitiously sneaking pinches, having late night "coffees" in seedier parts of town, I will stage an intervention.

@cardamomaddict @APBBlue I know someone who actually "did" nutmeg in college, mostly on a dare. It took something like two spice bottles worth (each has a couple of table spoons I think?), but he was high all weekend. And apparently the high is pretty unpleasant?
