It's the fact that your one viable "progressive" option, the Democratic Party, is virulently right-wing on a European scale. I know you're actually a lovely person, but if you think we're not aware of the 77 million fuck-heads, and haven't been trying to find ways to make the US a better country while swimming against them for decades then you have no idea of American politics.
If all you can come up with is "your country is simply fucked", ask yourself if you're helping or hurting those who are trying to improve things.

Even if they get rid of Trump, back to normal even a democrat is terrible to most in the US and worse to almost all outside. -
