@eniko this right clicking in the url box only works if at least two search engines are unhidden in the list in settings, in case anyone can't figure out why... it took me too long to figure it out.

@eniko I never see anyone mention that you can just change your site preferences too. DDG actually has meaningful site settings saved as a cookie, no account necessary. You can disable AI features as well as lots of other options, including disabling ads.

@rocketsoup @eniko thanks this seems to work on iOS Safari which doesn't let you specify a specific web address for a search engine.

@eniko You can also just turn AI off in your DDG prefs.

@eniko And a general FYI, there's also &udm=14 that can be appended to Google URLs for the same effect - no more Gemini garbage

@eniko everyone learns a new little thing every day but I'm sitting here thinking "damn, toddler's internet instructions here"
Dunno if I'm lucky or everyone else actually I do know fuck smartphones people started being forced to the internet instead of being naturally drawn to it like lil' ol' me did and have to learn "basic stuff" cuz there is no longer "basic stuff to learn" but "consume consume consume"

@eniko it's cookie the duality of good results either you search from someone who's participating in war or you search from someone who's participating in hate 😩
