But I have some domains @ dynadot too.
I always look at https://tld-list.com/ for the best (or good) price before registering. -

@liilliil I've known they are notorious at front running - which I'd pedantically not want to call stealing - but yeah there are a bunch of posts where they just take domains - which I would call stealing
Did you have a direct experience? (Not asking for proof - just curious if you have a story!)

btw i've registered 3 domains since starting this poll i have a problem but it's cool i can stop any time i want i just dont want

@gintoxicating@transister.social I've been using Forpsi for 20 or something years. It's a local Central European provider. Domains with gTLDs that they don't have available live at Marcaria. DNS records live elsewhere though.

porkbun is my go-to since it got a good bang for buck in some domains, never had a single issue with their customer support (they are actually helpful unlike with some major companies)
namecheap is.. fine. i don't use it because i'm used to my default registrar, but it's not like they're terrible
unlike OVH, where they gave me the worst headache where my domains didn't work for a long time despite properly setting up DNS and their support was useless so i had to just hope they fix it
any others i didn't bother with

@gintoxicating i just finished moving from Gandi (those insane prices) to Porkbun. (One on Dynadot because of tld but I mildly dislike it). Porkbun's web interface works fine but it is a bear to use. Otherwise they have been awesome.

proton partnership a year ago or so and recently their promotion to "redesign their mascot" explicitly allows "ai assisted" "art" which. ick... -

Other: I use porkbun, but glauca.digital looks good if you want to avoid US companies
I use desec.io as my name server because I don't like that porkbun uses Cloudflare for DNSSEC, and they add CAA records to your domain that you can't remove. -

@gintoxicating at @team until currently, but they have not only not reacted well after being criticised for using the fashtech slop machine, they are still doing it, see https://manitu.social/@team/116167535284605773 as proof for example, so I guess Iโll be looking for a new domain hoster.

@gintoxicating@transister.social #ClouDNS! https://cloudns.net - At least I'd use them for #DNS because that works great there. - I used some big domain-hoster that had basically all TLDs but was more expensive. - #GoDaddy, #NameCheap et. al. get their #WHOIS crawled by #spammers whilst refusing to handle #AbuseReports. - And #ClowmFlare is a #RogueISP knowingly and willibgly hosting #Cybercrime and #Terrorism!
