    @FranceskaMann
    I have been playing with several of the chatbots, and now am using Lumo. I haven't used grok, but have heard a number of stories about its obvious manipulation.

      I asked ChatGPT if Roman Catholics follow Pope Leo. ChatGPT responded that no, they follow Pope Francis. I told ChatGPT that Pope Francis is dead and it argued with me. It said Pope Francis was seen by credible sources on today's date.

      For this people's energy bills are going up 30%? For this we're losing our jobs? WTF.

              @FranceskaMann It didn't argue, it doesn't think. It is designed by humans to make them money. That it is fucking up everything is - to the people bankrolling it - a small inconvenience for which they won't pay a price. Being surprised its output is garbage is silly at this point.

                @FranceskaMann it is like asking "is the Pope even Catholic"?

                  @FranceskaMann Google Gemini gave me instructions on getting to a non-existent European castle yesterday, told me it was a ruin people liked to explore, and said sources conflict on the age of it.

                    @Axomamma @FranceskaMann what amazes me is that, even when you explain to someone what LLMs do (basically, statistically-biased random word jumbler), they still insist on using it. Asides from every other reason for not using it, they don't realise that it doesn't 'get things right', 'think', 'argue', 'hallucinate', 'reconsider', it just comes up with a response that statistically would be what a human would come up with next.
