Starting today, I will only announce my blog posts on my social media channels and, when applicable, on Reddit. I will avoid announcing them directly on aggregators. Even though I was directly invited to do so some time ago, I occasionally get reprimanded because my behavior isn't in line with the guidelines regarding 'self-promotion'.
I don't make any money from my posts, there are no ads or monetization, so I always thought it wasn't really self-promotion (anyone who knows me knows my stance on the 'business at all costs' mentality). However, rules are rules, and I certainly don't want to be the one breaking them.
Ultimately, my goal is simply to share knowledge. Whether my posts reach 1, 100, or 1,000,000 people, the joy of writing them doesn't change.

@stefano what are "aggregators"?

@stefano We are absolutely certain about who Stefano is and what he did.

@stefano Wait, what? Your „…behavior isn't in line with the guidelines regarding 'self-promotion'…“? They don‘t want really nice people with a deep knowledge being helpful, caring about others and selflessly sharing lots of things while still being a whole person writing about life, food (and pipes, occadionally) doing that? Maybe they mismatched your posts with some of these hot air mouthlings on LinkedIn? Looks like someone should „aggregate“ a little more common sense.

Without pointing out who reprimanded, can you point us to (good) aggregators in general?

@catavz thanks
