Normally, when you search for a domain name — let’s use, for example, demo1234demo456.com — you’ll find that it costs roughly $24 (the actual price is $23.99). However, if you scroll down, you may see a related domain name like demo1234.com listed for $4,595 as a “premium domain.”

If you click on the small link explaining “premium domains,” it states that the price is set by the seller. What they don’t explain is that sometimes the seller is GoDaddy itself.

My guess is that GoDaddy assumed my domain was valuable and snatched it up to resell at a higher price than the standard renewal fee.

Any domain I own that I think is worth anything, I moved outside the United States, and that includes domain registers too.
