Most European countries were far worse affected that most east Asian countries.

The UK may have been a bit worse affected than some comparator countries depending on how you measure it, though I suspect the differences between us and France, Germany etc are pretty small compared with the difference vs say Japan

There’s a lot of discussion around school attendance rates recently where I am, and so far I’ve seen one mention (just today, actually) of the fact that over half of missed days are either due to illness or medical appointments.
