Public transport in rural areas has been reduced over time, leading to transit poverty for people who don't own a car. That really sucked for the people who lost their job.</p><p>Suppose you're the leader of a big country. Self-driving cars have been invented, in this scenario they're completely safe. Many people start taking self-driving taxis because they're cheaper. Cab drivers are losing work. Many were just college projects and not on par to be deployed, many were. But you know what was the difference there? People were seeing AI as independent tool. Not a property owned by corporate giants. That's why they were able to see it's use case.
