<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><rss xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" version="2.0"><channel><title><![CDATA[Today&#x27;s #mayke is a cursed and mostly ineffective minimalist reading light for the #Xteink #X4 e-reader.]]></title><description><![CDATA[<p>Today's <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/mayke" rel="tag">#<span>mayke</span></a> is a cursed and mostly ineffective minimalist reading light for the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Xteink" rel="tag">#<span>Xteink</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/X4" rel="tag">#<span>X4</span></a> e-reader.</p><p>It runs on an ESP32-C3, which means the USB-C port only runs in JTAG mode - so no possibility of pulling power from it.</p><p>HOWEVER, you can get ~1mA of 3.3V off of the D+ pin, which is juuuust enough to dimly light a single red LED.</p><p>This means you can have a reading light powered by the device, although this is an entirely cursed way to do this, and hardly enough to read by.</p>
