Given, the problems the UK finds itself in (and the demand for 'change') perhaps we might wonder whether the underlying issue isn't productivity or management but rather the educational background of our political & business classes?

Perhaps that's what needs to change?

There's certainly a case for saying that privately educated students have on average more social and educational advantages because of their parents' superior wealth, but state grammar students generally match or exceed the privately-educated in exam results.

The wealthy powerful people who are likely to get into govt & leadership positions are those who send their children to private school.

Given such a siloed upbringing and education, where the elite have barely any interaction with wider society during their formative years, it is hardly any wonder that those who lead society are fundamentally clueless about the problems we face daily, and the way that society more broadly functions.

It is a reciped for exactly the kind of socio-politocal disaster we are facing today.
