I was only ever a technical writer but I learned enough to be cautious. Now retired I've had several people tell me they can show me how to use Facebook and WhatsApp etc. They are mystified when I tell them I tested FB for a magazine when it was first available on the UK then after a couple of years wrote another piece about leaving it. Back when most people thought 2nd Life and My Space were the future.

Nowhere near enough cover for the arseholes to hide behind, so less (but not zero) arseholes. Works for me.

And the LLM thing is weird. I have thoughts on it, but I suspect I’ m out of sync with most of Mastodon. Where I do align is that large corps aren’t even vaguely holding it right.

My team are a bunch of rusted on old nerds so of course we just nodded our heads and then ignored him once we got back to work and kept on developing as usual. About a month ago a company wide email was sent around saying, "Do not use AI tools or websites! You are forbidden until further notice." so I guess something happened.
