Well I'm back to home improvements/electrocuting myself as the job was proving too stressful and I don't like being tied to "AI Native" without any kind of scientific process involved other than the CEO's enthusiasm.

Well I'm back to home improvements/electrocuting myself as the job was proving too stressful and I don't like being tied to "AI Native" without any kind of scientific process involved other than the CEO's enthusiasm. I get involved in projects to succeed, and when there are obvious roadblocks to success that I can't change there's no point in making myself ill over it.
So I've chucked my weed, beer and cigarettes that were making a comeback in my life in an attempt to manage the stress. I'd rather be poor and alive; I'm way too old to be falling back into old coping habits. And I can do cool projects.
Currently trying to fix up the two cars so they can pass the "contrôle technique". Then back to the 32kWh battery storage integration with the inverters, heat pump installation, solar panels, rainwater collection and possibly making it potable, planting mulberries, chestnuts, walnuts, sorting out a four-week chicken rotation system, and possibly aquaculture in the bottom field, etc...
It's what I actually want to do with my life. And we can just about survive on my disability benefits once my unemployment benefits come to an end in six months.
It's empowering to make this decision myself.

Can't sleep, so wrote myself a quick to-do list:
Finish roof insulation.
Get back to making microbiome yogurt.
Do battery-inverter box - then wiring for cell voltage to BMS and to inverters. Get active balancer and BMS monitoring on tablet. Home assistant (maybe later)? Install UPS for inverter etc switch.
Do contrôle technique for X-Trail, then change front triangles, silentblocks etc. Take out bumper dent.
Fix Zoë bonnet closing - if works fix headlights with 3d prints and tell contrôle technique that it's a different car
Clear bottom field, in several goes. Also cut down trees encroaching on overhead cables and solar.
Cut down a couple of trees from bottom field and some scrubby ones, cut to 45cm, split and stack. Do same for some seasoned wood.
Plant chestnuts and walnuts. Tarp as much as possible (cut 30*10m silage sheets into four for easier installation, get weighted sandbags) after rototilling if I can get it working. Maybe try a cover crop? Probably too late.
Do AC bus with wiring, do ATS, set up wiring for grid to go via Home Manager 2.0/ATS, install grid off timer , RCB, parafoudre for grid entry. Get battery backup working for higher daytime winter tariffs.
Prepare concrete base (use bricks for siding blackberries -also need post and wiring and chainsawing truculent shrubs) for scaffolding. Install heat pump (do course first, not necessarily?). Set up PV panel bars with earthing (maybe with some more earth rods and bentonite - need to print covers). Install PV and conduits back to technical room. Get solar inverters working. Remove scaffolding and add ground mounted solar too.
Try one week germination for store-bought walnuts for cheap trees unless I finish work in November in bottom field in which case just buy little ones to overwinter. Move garden chestnuts and walnuts to bottom field. Germinate mulberries. Get tayberry to go with blackberries. Look at raspberry bed if time allows.
Plan first season bottom field planting as well as veg and herb gardens.
General - get back on the strength training, find other interesting batch cooking including lentils/peas/chickpeas. Make sure Carla understands what I'm doing so she gets on board.
Spring - lots of sauerkraut. Look at replacing motorbike and lawnmower batteries with LiFePO4 and BMS. Fed up of them dying over winter.
Projects - look at possibility of aquaculture in bottom of bottom field. Do drone thing. Look at getting solar and storage in bottom field for surface water pumping for summer use. Look at rainwater harvesting.
Look at expedient silos, mini harvesters etc.
Maybe do mini-almond greenhouse to mitigate frost damage.
Look at orangerie extension (no, too expensive).
Note down everything veggie in a diary for future years

Did the loft insulation. Yay!
I'm totally knackered. Boo!
Definitely need to get back on the strength training programme or I'll never manage all the other, more physical, stuff.

Also started a new 36 hour yogurt batch. Using l gasseri this time as the l reuteri failed the last three times (possibly due to gastric casing or something).

It's been 72 hours since I quit and I'm no longer getting panic attacks walking the dog in the middle of nowhere. Seems I made the right decision (I'm aware this isn't a possibility for everyone, but I've been preparing for something like this for quite some time when I've been able to).

Prepared the Nissan for its contrôle technique tomorrow. Couldn't replace the Zoe's bonnet opening latch mechanism as it needed taking off bodywork that is a bit fragile. I'll get the mechanic to do it.
Got a dentist appointment sorted for before my health insurance runs out, need to do the same for glasses but they're not replying.
Only thing left on today's to-do list is to get cracking on the home storage battery to inverter box. And possibly a gentle kickstart to my strength training later.
Oh, and food.

@davep I found myself reading this today, and when I read "And possibly a gentle Kickstart to my strength training" I remembered an old BSA 650 motorcycle I had (with Lucas electrics), which frequently became an unscheduled strength training program of many kicks. Somehow 56 years later it's become a funny and fond memory, Thanks.

@coffeemug Sounds a bit like my neighbour's DR650!

@davep I sure hope not, those Suzuki DR's are supposed to be very reliable. If I'm not assuming too much that sounds like a great bike for the UK.

@coffeemug They're woefully underpowered, but do tend to start after a decent kicking.
