Growing up in the Netherlands, I thought this was normal. I knew English doesn't have this distinction, but I assumed other languages do.

Well, I just looked into it in German, French, Polish, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, French, Spanish and Portuguese and guess what... none of them have separate words for these! What!

Didn't realise we alone have that. Nice.
