I'm on the SW side of the fediverse and honestly 99% of those of us who post #NSFW content do so with proper blurring and etc and Mastodon automatically blurs things

Also the BBC tag has it's own load of much more "scandalous" images and I've never seen anyone say "be careful tagging BBC"

Patriarchal control of bodies, especially femme bodies does enough to make SW difficult and dangerous than to accuse us of taking over cute Donkey content

I’ve been following it for well over a year and seen nothing but donkeys.

Everyone outside America knows their donkey from their backside and doesn’t say ass when they mean arse.

Honestly, that's incredible. I've been alive long enough to have internalized the mantra "don't Google that!" In response to...well, everything.

I mean, I'm old enough that most of my "can't unsee THAT" moments occurred before widespread internet adoption.

There’s an unwritten treaty in the Fediverse that the #asstodon hashtag is for donkey lovers and “safe for work”. While I would never try to enforce it, that in 2.5 years the treaty has been so rarely broken is, to my mind, a triumph of global online cooperation.
