But it's a relative holiday for them, last year they weathered an ice storm.

Husband was so cold - I got him a heated electric vest with an extra battery for Christmas and he wore it constantly. Meanwhile,y hormones are still off so I was hanging out in a tank top with the ceiling fan on (low, but on).

The hitch is that my husband has health issues and won't even consider moving to Vermont because it's too cold. He was also born in Vietnam and grew up in New Jersey and he just can't handle winters any longer than what we get here.

Pushed patriotism is a slippery path to nationalism, and as a culture, we're pretty resistant to nationalism.
