They added an entire separate walking/MUP loop on the inside of the old driving loop. They also added wayfinding, plus more human-scale landscaping.</p><p>And that playground was BUSY!!</p><p><a href="https://yeg.bike/tags/Edmonton" rel="tag">#<span>Edmonton</span></a></p>

The whole loop seems to be 2.4k and I think I recall four to five of these nodes? The city website talks a lot about how accessible the park now is, including the "rest nodes" along the walking paths, but it doesn't actually specify anywhere <em>how</em> frequent the benches are. 100m? 500m? Different people need different frequencies of rest! </p><p><div class="card col-md-9 col-lg-6 position-relative link-preview p-0">

He can't go down on his outside of driving around as he can't walk far and can't load and unload his scooter. Big, empty spaces are kind of the point of most public parks. The MUP around the road and the one that cuts across the park diagonally are excellent for walkers and rollers. The playground is excellent, and all of the buildings have great upgrades.
