The biggest problem with running ejabberd 18.12.1-2 is likely the TLS certificate thing:

* https://blog.prosody.im/2026-letsencrypt-changes/

... which will break server to server connections. Apparently this is something that all the TLS certificate providers will eventually have to do so it is not just Let's Encrypt.

There were indications from @mailbox_org, also here on the fediverse, that they are working on updating the server. But that was quite some time ago and it did not happen yet šŸ˜ž

Fortunately, is pretty easy, and there are many other options, see https://providers.xmpp.net/#providers by @xmpp_providers and https://joinjabber.org/docs/servers/ by @joinjabber.
