Looks like a western red cedar, about 200-300 years old.</p><p>They are still logging these in previously reserved areas along the Alberni Inlet (Nahmint) and on the North Island. <img src="https://board.circlewithadot.net/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f622.png?v=28325c671da" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--cry" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title="😢" alt="😢" /> </p><p>These were in 8-10ft chunks on the truck. Not sure what their destination would be. So I'm a little skeptical that the destination was any kind of dimensional product, but it could be for an artisanal use. In dimensional wood production, the tight grain again is what sets it apart and demands a premium.
