I was really hoping, after the BC announcement last month, that Alberta would end up on permanent mountain standard time, synced with BC's permanent Pacific daylight time. But somehow it seems right (ahem) that this government would rather harmonize with Saskatchewan. </p><p>On another note: This really makes a mockery of all the referendum proposals, if the Alberta government is going to adopt a policy that was voted down in a province-wide referendum a few years ago.</p><p>But regardless: now is the time to start talking to school boards &amp; other institutions about planning to change their hours so that school &amp; work days don't start way before sunrise.
