Been on a long nonfiction run. I'm tired of learning about stuff. Just need some fiction. Something creative, something neat, maybe adventure, maybe dystopia, maybe gangster with a heart of gold, maybe breaking the psyche, world traveller, bicycle mechanic, just about anything.

Anyone reading anything great these days?

And "Project Hail Mary" is great. I couldn't stop reading in the night.

Project Hail Mary is also popular right now because of the movie, and it *is* a really good book, but there's some talk going around about some quasi-political statements the author made in a recent interview that, in the most charitable interpretation, showed rather poor judgment. 1. Dragon Blood by Lindsay Buroker, starting with "Balanced on the Blade's Edge" (which you can probably find free in eBook format somewhere)
2. the Dark Lord Davi duology by Django Wexler, starting with "How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying"

There's also Legends and Lattes and its sequels, and Monk and Robot, and Murderbot (that one being more sci-fi), all of which are quite popular and I think would be appreciated by someone wanting a break from nonfiction. And none of these are really "heavy" reading either, which makes them better candidates for a first foray into fiction than something like Lord of the Rings or Mistborn (both also very good but much more complex).
