The FBI could recently recover deleted Signal messages from an iOS phone because the notifications you see on your phone were stored in an extra  database.  Apple has now fixed this, also making <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/deltachat" rel="tag">#<span>deltachat</span></a> iOS users safer.
