Thunderstorms can break up pollen into proteins. "The widely dispersed proteins can trigger allergic reactions in some people – even among those who weren't previously asthmatic."

Reminder that your N95 mask is great at keeping pollen out, and may save your life in case of thunderstorm asthma.

Carry one in pollen season. Your lungs will thank you.
