Basically this guy and his ex-girlfriend's prissy prize cat are fighting their way through a live #fantasy themed game built in the ruins of Earth after it's taken over by an alien corporation, and the game is being watched by thousands of alien races from which Carl and Princess Donut gain trillions of fans as they kill enemy mobs and have boss battles to get to the next levels before their time runs out. This book only gets as far as the entrance to the third level and, of course, ends with a bit of a new mystery to entice the reader. Apparently this is #LitRPG ? Have I read a LitRPG novel? It was ok but like with the repetitive processes in video games I got tired of it after a while. If you're into that sort of thing, I imagine you'd like this book since the characters are entertaining and there's a lot of action and snarky humor. #bookstodon

Reply to Finished #reading Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman. on Mon, 27 Apr 2026 12:03:08 GMT

@mattmaison Same

nonya_bidniss@infosec.exchange

Reply to Finished #reading Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman. on Mon, 27 Apr 2026 11:59:34 GMT

@Nonya_Bidniss The series gets more thoughtful and interesting as it goes on.
