I admit, I knew York librarians had better salaries than UofT librarians but I didn't know it was that much better. I think starting salary for recent MLIS grads is more in the neighbourhood of $85,000.

Our salaries are tied by formula to the average faculty salary (and we benefit from that).

Tell them to address all the Demonstrated points with a line or two in their letter. They don't need to be the best in the world; they need to show that knowledge or ability based on their experience (can be creative here). Also address all the Knowledge Of points; experience there helps but isn't required, and they can expand in person. But address all the points. That's how we start to score.
