A part of me is a little sad, but I am sure Sonic will return to an Ishambard #VGMWednesday in due time.

Today's game is one I have vague memories of, mostly of seeing it at a friend's. He had a chipped PS1, and had a bunch of pretty obscure PS1 games. Ones that stuck in my mind were Legend of Legaia and Soul Blade.

Soul Blade being the first game in the Soul Calibur series. Called Soul Edge in Japan but Soul Blade internationally due to avoid on-going shenanigans relating EDGE games and their attempts to trademark anything with edge in the name. At least, that is my understanding...

What i wasn't aware of though, was that Soul Edge had a vocal opening theme 『The Edge of Soul』

https://youtu.be/RtF80UCgarY?si=DW6QSffkrJ_Rtqzy

There is something about this opening that I love, perhaps it is the opening narration.

#PS1 #PlayStation #SoulCalibur
